Hatherleigh Town Square, Market Street, Hatherleigh, Devon, EX20 3JN, UK
Saturday June 13th will see Hatherleigh explode in a mass of brightly coloured corn starch when the Hatherleigh Carnival Committee will host their fourth Colour Run through the town. This fun event has its origins in the Hindu festival of Holi to celebrate the arrival of spring, this celebration has been taken and adapted all over the world where brightly coloured powder is thrown in symbolic celebration of good over evil!
To cater for all, we have mapped out both a 5km and 2.5km route around the streets and lanes of Hatherleigh. It is definitely NOT a race, more of an experience, and is open to everyone who may like to run, walk or wheel; however, they choose to enjoy it best.
There is no age limit, but please make sure under 11’s are supervised by a parent/guardian; under 18’s will need a parent/guardian to sign a waiver on their behalf.

Hatherleigh Carnival pride themselves in thinking about their use of plastic at their events and minimise where possible. Instead of getting small bags of paint to sell to our participants and to members of the public we are going to provide paper cups and reusable squeezy bottles as an alternative.
If you have blond or highlighted hair you could decide to put some oil in your hair before the run, it will help the colours to wash out after the event.
Coloured powder will blow away and wash away with the first rain. The colour powder contains no ingredients that could harm the environment.
The colour Track can easily be cleaned with water. If no rain is forecasted, you can also clean with a broom or vacuum cleaner.
Places that will have a lot of coloured powder are the colour stations and the finish. a colour run track is easy to clean as the powder paint is not widely spread.
People are often worried about cleaning clothes and shoes after a colour run. Although we ensure our colours wash out very easily we advise you not to wear your best clothes or most expensive shoes. Leather and suede especially are known for easily asborbing some colours.
The coloured powder on peoples arm, legs and faces can easily be wiped off. A shower will do the rest. Cleaning colour powder after a run is no issue with safe colour run powder.
The paint powder we use are safe and easy to clean.
We will only use safe and certified Holi colours for our event.
